Two For The Show - April, 2017
Dear Wilson Families:
2017 has been off to great start!
We have been working on an all-school Kindness Challenge.
Students have been having discussions about kindness and have
been demonstrating acts of kindness. I encourage you to ask
your child about these learning experiences and how they use
this knowledge to contribute positively to our school community.
A few great questions to ask are, “Tell me about something you
did to help someone today. Who made you smile today—and
what did they do to make you feel happy? Tell me about the
challenge you’re having and your plan to push through it.”
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Some teachers may request a
Spring conference time with you, or if you would like to request
a conference, please see your child’s teacher.
Our entire Wilson Staff is very busy planning for our One
School/One Book project. An invitation will be going home soon
for the One School/One Book Spaghetti Dinner night on
February 15th. This is a literacy event that includes all families
and all staff! Each family will be receiving a hard cover copy of
the book (a collaboration of funds from PTA and our school
budget). This is a wonderful opportunity to bring families and
school together by reading the same book.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact
your child’s teacher or myself regarding your child’s progress.
Wilson Elementary School is home to approximately 450 outstanding students ranging in programs from 4K through grade 5. Wilson students are committed to being better than their best! Positive opportunities are available for students to make excellent decisions each day. On a continual basis we will celebrate our school life honoring individuals and classes/teams who have made positive contributions to our school. Read more about our school here!
